چکیده

Given the current huge generation of solid waste worldwide, alternative and innovative methodologies for incorporating these materials should be encouraged elsewhere. In this context, objective research is to evaluate use glass as a substitute sand raw material in ceramics. Formulations containing from 0% 20% were produced, thus replacing natural sand. Extruded calcined specimens produced at temperatures 800, 900 1000 °C. The characterization results demonstrated compatibility their potential improving properties Results density, water absorption flexural strength improved when was added due porosity reduction, provided by formation liquid phase then sintering, promoted waste. This resulted coherent with ceramic applications form tiles blocks, calcining temperature 800 On contrary, without did not reach necessary parameters even conclusion, feasibility using has been proven, which, addition material’s properties, provides economy benefits industry, calcination process milder temperatures.

Magnetic Glass Ceramics by Sintering of Borosilicate Glass and Inorganic Waste

Ceramics and glass ceramics based on industrial waste have been widely recognized as competitive products for building applications; however, there is a great potential for such materials with novel functionalities. In this paper, we discuss the development of magnetic sintered glass ceramics based on two iron-rich slags, coming from non-ferrous metallurgy and recycled borosilicate glass. The s...

Sintered glass–ceramic from municipal solid waste incinerator ashes

In the present study, the sinter-crystallization behavior of a glass from municipal solid waste incineration ashes was investigated. The crystallization kinetics were estimated by DTA at different heating rates and the formed crystalline phases were evaluated by XRD. The sintering was studied at different heating rates and at different holding temperatures by dilatometry, measuring the % of lin...
